There are a lot of people who want to work in politics who aren't lobbyists.

So many of these people who come here aren't political. They don't know a lot about the law and how politics work in their own country, so it's even harder for them to know it here.

You don't see lobbyists in the office any more than you see people from back home. Lobbyists have influence on the Hill, but not as much as you might think.

While every American knows perfectly well that well-heeled lobbyists are manipulating the federal tax code for profit, this panel somehow ignored that reality and substituted cowardly politics for strong action. In the process they employed limited findings and let the American people, as well as President Bush , down.

We work for the families back home, we do not work for the lobbyists that prowl the halls of the capital building, do not forget who we work for.

Lobbyists do a ton of information gathering work for the legislative process. How could you seriously consider a banking bill without having people in the financial institutions involved?

Rep. DeLay doesn't want the people of Houston to know what he's up to with corrupt lobbyists in Washington. There should be no place in Congress for the corrupt pay-to-play politics of Tom DeLay and Bob Ney. No more lip service. Congress must address real reforms that drain the money swamp of Washington.

AL leader Saber Chowdhury is my nephew and I was in politics with his father. As an educated person of modern era, Saber is very much aware that every country has lobbyists in the USA.

Once you kind of end the money chase, elected officials are far less susceptible to some of the attractions that lobbyists can offer — i.e. travel, food, gifts, campaign contributions. Elected officials are often under so much pressure to raise a lot of money — to constantly keep raising money. That's why they have these close ties with lobbyists. Lobbyists help them raise money.

I'm very passionate about politics and public service. After college, I'd like to work in politics or public policy. I'm willing to work in a capacity that is needed of me.

This seems more like the work of Uribe lobbyists than that of an investigation.
