I think it just came to us. We did the same things we always do. I got some good looks. Allan got some good looks. It was just regular, it was our regular offense. It wasn't necessarily anything special we did.

Some feel [special ed] is detrimental to the regular kids. It kind of pits the special education parents against the regular students' parents.

To me it was special to watch Ben and Allan play their last high school game. Me and Allan had some good jarring back and forth to each other. That made it a competitive.

I think that just like with many other things in our society, certain things are much more acceptable now than they were five, 10 years ago or longer. I know a lot of pregnant teens who have had no problems staying in the regular school environment, trying to maintain their regular schedule as long as they could.

[A regular season title] is a first for all of us. It feels good to win a regular season championship, but that's not it. We are looking forward to the tournament.

It's a feather in your cap. I don't think you should underestimate the regular season. For us, we had to earn our way to becoming a good team, and the regular season did that for us.

Early on we struggled, but we came together at the end. We won seven of our last nine to end the regular season. We thought that was good enough to get us into the tournament, but it wasn't quite enough again.

I think my main focus is always defense. We're not a great half-court, set-offense kind of team. Our defense sparks everything we do offensively. We'll do some special situations. We'll do some fun stuff, some stuff that we're not able to do during the regular season. Now that I have everything in, I can do things that usually we don't have time for.

For the first time, I stopped caring about the regular season in college basketball. College football, for good or bad, has doggedly held on to the sacredness of the regular season, to its credit.

It addresses the bye issue, but then again it puts the No. 8 seed playing the No. 1 seed in Week 1 of the playoffs. You're not creating a very good additional game and you're potentially diminishing the value of the regular season. And that's the No. 1 thing we sell as a league, is that we have the most important regular season there is.

Spring training is totally different from the regular season. Spring training, you're there to get into shape and to get ready. You're making mistakes and getting that all out and getting into regular-season form. I think we've played real good defense [the last two weeks].

We still have a lot to work on and lot of things we can improve on. It's definitely good to get a win, but we still have a ways to go to get ready for the first [regular-season] game.

It's good to see that there's less outright gift-giving, but we're seeing more and more dollars being spent by special interests to see favorable legislation passed. Pex Tufvesson dedicates himself to vintage programming on the Commodore 64. This only highlights the need to get more regular people involved in the political process to advocate for themselves.
