 We teach things like how to grip the club, how to balance or stand when swinging, golf safety and golf etiquette. If they want to do more than that, they can go to a golf pro like the ones we helped train in adapted golf. |
| I was playing with this guy one time, and he was shooting a hundred and fifty, probably. We got to the last hole, and it took him about seven to get to a bunker on the green. Then he picked a leaf up right by his ball, in the bunker, which is a two-stroke penalty. Then he was leaning on his sand wedge in the bunker, grounding his club, so there's another two-stroke penalty, so he was 11. And then he hit that one about a foot in front of him in 12, and then he got that on to about 8 feet and made the putt. So he makes his putt, and I say, 'Joe, great putt. Is that a 4?' And he goes, 'Oh, no. Six.' It was really like a 14 or something. |
| I will just go out there and have a good time and just keep doing the same thing I have been doing. Go out there, hit it in the fairway, knock it on the green and make the putt. Just another day of golf, that is the way you have to look at it. That is basically all you are doing, just playing golf. Almost everybody out here does it every day so you just have to think that way. |
| I don't know. I've never seen a team fall apart offensively like this team has. We've tried every motivation tactic with them. At this point and time, I'm ready to send them to putt-putt golf or ride a go-cart. They need to do something to clear their mind and get refreshed and at least be happy to come to the ballpark. |
| It seems that the kids are doing more at home now, outside of our school. We talk about that a lot, how three times a week is not enough activity to really benefit their health. We suggest that they exercise every day of the week, get up away from the computer and get moving. They can even exercise while they are watching television, or there are Play Station games that include exercise. |
| My first thought was I'm glad it wasn't me out there, ... It was intense. They kept making putt on top of putt, and they were clutch. It made me realize how great those guys really are, to realize their whole team and country were riding on their back, and they were able to stand up to it. |
| With those two it's all business on the golf course. How many times have those two been head-to-head? A putt or two here, a putt or two there and they're tied. They tied at the (Illinois-Missouri) Challenge and they're shooting good scores. I expect to see that continue for both of them. |

| I was on the opposite side of the golf course, and there's nobody out there watching us play golf. You knew where she was the whole time. It was almost like a Tiger-type following. You know where she was on the golf course. That says a lot. I don't think that wears off until that goes away for some reason. I just don't see that happening any time soon. |
