They (Burley) had a tough game Tuesday and we were a little bit fresher. Our bench came up big tonight and we were able to utilize it.

Our bench did a great job again tonight as they have all year. It (gave) us a chance to be a little bit fresher, I believe, there at the end. We rotate a lot throughout the game. Like I said, it gives us a chance to maybe be a step quicker at the end.

This was a tough game to get up for tonight. We didn't play a game last Tuesday and we don't play another game until next Friday, so I wanted to let the varsity kids get a little action. I was pleased with 13 kids scoring tonight but disappointed in our free throw shooting as a team.

We've had some tough basketball games this year. There's going to be some tough ones down the road. The Perry game Tuesday is just as important to us. Tonight we came out with a real sense of purpose and things worked out well for us.

We lost a tough game 1-0, had a blowout [win Tuesday]. Tonight I'm most proud of our team. This is the best game we played...Our guys grew up a little bit.

There was a lot of hunger on that bench tonight. Everybody was pulling for everybody. The volume was up a little bit tonight. A lot of it was because [Tuesday night] wasn't a good feeling to go home from, especially scoring nine runs and coming away empty.

I'd contribute that to our bench. Our bench did a good job, as it had all season. That helped us be fresher at the end.

We'd like to be in a position to utilize our bench. But the game will dictate that.

Playing all the girls we play ... sometimes we might take our lumps here and there early in the game, but late in the game, we always feel like we're going to have the fresher legs and fresher bodies. That's why they call it a team sport, because everybody contributes.

It was like someone just turned on the lights. My legs were heavy and it took me a long time to get used to the balls. But I kept feeling fresher and fresher as the game progressed. When we shoot over 70 percent we've absolutely won every game for the past two years. We shot well below that tonight, but we won the game on sheer grit and determination. I was proud to be on the bench tonight.

You don't want guys getting worn out while the rest of your bench is getting stale, which is what usually happens in a penalty-filled game. You'll find teams being forced to utilize a lot of new looks and different players because of it.

We have some tough games behind us, but at the same time we know we can play well and we know we can beat the other teams. We just have to regroup here. It's going to be a tough game for us on Tuesday and an important one. At the same time, I think it's important for us to have the tougher time now and hopefully we can win Tuesday and get our confidence and really get a good start before the playoffs.

We're just really playing well together. The last four or five games, I've been starting our seniors. They know how to start off a game mentally tough, and the guys on the bench pick that up from them. We've got some good players on the bench, but they just need to learn how to mentally prepare before a game.
