The festival really is a community celebration. It's a wonderful free event; people will learn about Escondido.

We're really excited about our grand opening celebration and our capacity to provide much needed health care services to our young people. We hope the entire community will come and share this wonderful event with us, especially young people and their parents.

I love Akron's event. There's no doubt that they've used a strategic approach to what the event stands for: community, arts, celebration and the New Year. When all the components are running full tilt, it's a successful event.

We want it become an event that the community will look forward to. It could become another festival that will bring a lot of people to Orangeburg.

This event allows students to learn about their own and others' backgrounds. We should all embrace other cultures and learn to live lives of celebration and joy.

We've had church and civic groups, like the Lion's Club, that have found the festival helpful either as a fund raiser or for public service to the community. Several churches have given away free cold water at the festival as an outreach effort.

Pat Day is not only a great jockey and outstanding athlete, he is one of our community's most respected and beloved citizens and a wonderful role model. Few people wear the label of 'legend' as comfortably as Pat and Churchill Downs is delighted to offer this opportunity for our community to say 'thank you' for all that he has given us through the years. We look forward to joining Pat's family, fans and friends from throughout our community and the country in this celebration of his incredible career on 'Pat's Day' at Churchill Downs.

They're going to have research-based principles, model programs to learn from. They're going to learn from one another. The Escondido district is going to be part of the larger PROMISE family.

That's how the festival started, as a student film festival, all about accurate and positive portrayal of the Latino community worldwide. Those core values are still very much part of the festival today.

This is a festival of found objects. Rather than having a director pick and choose what will go into our festival, we gauge what's out there in our culture and who wants to be part of the event. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. Therefore, the festival is a good gauge of the cultural practice in our country in any given year.

It's our No. 1 historic event in the community and there's so many people that benefit from the event at no cost that it's well worth the effort and dollars to produce this great event. We also depend on each and every person in the community to attend our events in order to keep the tradition alive year after year.

At times of scarcity, Spring Festival for kids was a great occasion to fulfill their simple wish for new clothes and best foods. That is why adults are often nostalgic about their good old times in celebration of the festival.

It's still the same festival; we've just added vendors, more Israeli foods, products from Israel. We wanted to make the event the whole community.
