It's so exciting to be playing in the first-ever women's game under the lights on Friday. The team has been talking about this all year. Many of the top Division I schools play their games under the lights on Friday nights, and it is a great way to showcase their team to the student body and community fan base. We are excited to be able to do that now. Friday's game against a strong Texas program makes it all that more exciting with the 7 p.m. start.

He's starting to believe in how good he can be. He keeps throwing like that, it's exciting to see that kind of stuff. He's very excited. It's exciting when you see results happen right away. Going by the game stats we give up another big inning. Walks and timely hitting by them pretty well spelled doom for us. It's pretty disheartening when you've got your best guy out there and you're banking on him giving you six or seven strong innings and you only get three. We just feel like he was forced out of the game early with walks. I won't say with control, I'll say with walks.

He sets a great example every day, from the second he walks in the clubhouse to the second he leaves. In every phase of the game -- starting with his preparation and his work ethic. He very easily could have been sitting [on the bench], shutting it down.

Rudy (Brown's nickname) was the key to the game. He was throwing hard, and was ahead of the count most of the night. Even when he got behind, they didn't have great swings. He pitched a great game, and really controlled the game.
