en I was very proud of out effort and heart today. We were consistent on defense with pressure and speed against a very good Midwest Central team.

en I said after the second period that it wasn't going to be easy today. Sometimes the shots go and sometimes they don't. Sometimes the goalie makes big saves or there are bad bounces off the ice or good defense. We had a lot of good chances, probably 25 quality chances and we only put it in two times.

en I think I came through with a decent race. I'm not thrilled with it, but I think it was a good effort. It was representative of where I am today. I was a little sick last week and this is a good first race back.

en It is good to be in the jersey today, especially being from quite close to Sheffield. This was the stage I wanted to do well in. Earlier in the week I had a bit of a problem with a knee injury as I had crashed last week. I was in the break but had to drop back. So it was good today to be up the road.

en I thought we had a full team effort today, everybody played except for two of our goalkeepers. San Jose was very organized and kept numbers back. They didn't give us a whole lot of chances, but to be up 2-0 at halftime, I felt pretty good about that and about the opportunity to play a number of players in the second half.
