I am very disappointed (that we didn't take the lead) but such is life... in this game you are going to fall, but you have to know that you will have to rise again.

We had numerous opportunities to score, but the ball just didn't fall. Our defense and rebounding were the keys to our lead in the game.

It was important to get a lead on them at the start of the game because St. Thomas More is a very patient team on offense. They use a lot of the clock and we didn't want to fall behind them.

I think it's not being able to establish the tempo of getting into a rhythm. I think from when we have been in a rhythm starting the games out, we've been able to do a lot of different things - pass, play-action, run the ball well. That will lead us to getting points. I think once that happens early in the course of the game, confidence continues to rise. Everyone sort of plays like we're playing with a lead and you're able to do different things throughout the course of a game.

Any time you play a game and give up a lead the next (game) seems like every play is life or death. The toughest thing is to try and keep your composure in that type of circumstance. We knew we really needed it. We didn't want to put too much pressure on it but this was a huge game for us.

There's not a guy in our dressing room who feels down and upset. I mean, obviously, we're disappointed we didn't come out and get the win in the first game. But we have a job to do and that's to get the split (of the first two games). Get the split in their rink and go back to ours and the Fort Wayne fans will lead us to two victories.

We're mad. Plain and simple, we're mad and we're disappointed with our effort tonight because this is a game we really should have won. There's a lot of ifs in life, but we're mad and disappointed and that's exactly the way I want them to be. I don't want them to feel good about a game where they only gave effort in the second half.

We were definitely happy to ?steal? the first game. But we were disappointed about the outcome in the second game, especially after we had a three-run lead. We hit the ball well in Game 2, but we struggled defensively.

To hurry through the rise and fall of a fine, full sentence is like defying the role of time in human life.

They didn't do anything different. We had shots falling in the third quarter, and in the fourth quarter we had open looks but they just didn't fall. Once they got the lead late, they didn't force the issue as much. We would step out but they did a good job taking care of the ball.

I was probably most disappointed in our play during the second game. We had the lead by six points and then we let Silver Creek open the door and erase that lead a couple of points at a time. Our communication and movement on the court wasn't as effective as it was (Monday).

We talked about it at the very beginning, to keep playing the game because usually something strange happens when we play Granite City. I didn't lead right. We didn't really lead. We didn't do what we had to do to win or stay in the game. We have to make sure everybody's in the right position and ready to play. The way we lost, you could tell we weren't playing good or hard. We weren't playing St. John's basketball.

No one ever expects to be the lead story on the nightly news. Once you have that kind of horror fall upon you, you never see life the same again.

I'm disappointed, this is the weakest we played for maybe six months. I'm disappointed we missed so many goals. We didn't open the game up. When we did move the ball, we attacked down the flanks beautifully.
