At any time, the world could suddenly become much hotter or even much colder. Such a sudden, catastrophic change is the ultimate health risk-one that must be avoided at all costs.

Climate warming can work in different ways, but generally speaking, if you warm up the ice sheet, the glacier will flow faster.

The climate signals are such that this looks like it's going to be an active year. Atlantic sea-surface temperatures are very warm. That's a major factor.
