Of course there is, ... If we can go through a game and not have any negative plays and we can always gain 4 yards on each run, then I think we're doing something. We're not there yet.

If they get 1, 5 or 6 yards, I'm (ticked). I always think any gain is a negative play.

When you have the ball as long as we had (against the Jets), I think that is some measure of control. But we'd like to have more rushing yards for the number of attempts. That's because this really wasn't good enough. We've got a high standard here. They scored on us in both halves. We don't want to give up anything ? no points, no yards, we'd like to see negative yards. Until we do that, we're only average.

Ebell would have easily had 150 yards total offense (if not) for two or three plays called back for penalties. The screen play he ran, the counter he ran. Those were called back. Those plays were probably another 60 yards he didn't get.

It was a back-and-forth game, before we finally got a surge late in the second quarter. To gain the yards on the ground we got tonight, it shows that the offensive line is doing a great job.

He's made a lot of yards off first hits where people can't get hold of him. He's tough enough to get off those things, and now all of a sudden, a 3-yard gain becomes a 10-yard gain.

Ray sat down with Paul and did research in coming up with drills and a plan just for me, ... We'd simulate everything. We'd do the two-minute drill. He'd rush me and if it was a five-yard gain, I'd sprint five yards. Or a 10-yard gain, or whatever it was.
