en It starts with one thought and how you perceive the situation and what you think is going to happen. Your thoughts may be based on what happened in the past that wasn't positive or what you think is going to happen, but without any evidence that it will.

en You saw what happened this year. It can happen. It starts to filter through. Different opinions are given out, and things happen that shouldn't happen.

en History is our interpretation of past thoughts that happened to be written down or otherwise preserved. We do not really study [historical] causes, but what people at the time thought were the causes. And our aim in retrieving their thoughts is not so much to explain how things happened as to understand how they seemed to have happened. en We've talked about things that have happened here in the past. When you get on a run it's pretty amazing what can happen. You saw what happened a couple of years ago when we got points in something like 22 of our last 23 games.

en We don't think anything like that is the case. She was simply heading into work this morning. She wasn't going to a call, she was just driving along and unfortunately this happened and it just happened to happen to one of our deputies.

en If it starts to happen, then people will start talking about why there wasn't a collar.

en It wasn't the best of starts. When it happened, I thought: don't you go hiding in your shell.

en Based on the magnitude of what happened, we want to make sure it doesn't happen again.

en I suppose I've been through times where I thought it was never going to happen, but you try and keep those thoughts at the back of your mind.

en A lot of people didn't take it seriously. So many times they said it was going to happen, people would evacuate and then nothing happened. So I guess some people thought it would never happen.
