en We hardly play day games here, but when you go to tournaments, you have to be ready to play at any time. Unless you're well-conditioned, after the first couple games you find players breaking down, pulling this and pulling that. If we are going from here, we need to go from here with a well-conditioned team.

en Our players are well-conditioned. But you can see that the most conditioned teams have an advantage as the games go on.

en A poorly conditioned football team gets penalties, a poorly conditioned football team holds, a poorly conditioned football team turns the football over. The other way to look at it is, if your not in shape, you can lose games, so I think being in shape is a must. You need to have stamina ... you need to have some staying power in the fourth quarter to win football games and if you're not I think you're going to lose.

en Fortunately for us, we like to consider ourselves a very well-conditioned team. I don't have a team where one player is the superstar. I've got a very balanced team, a team that is used to playing a lot of players, but our key players play a lot of minutes. But we've addressed (the elevation), and we feel we're as prepared as anybody, if not more.

en Well, they'll all be in the mix, but we're in position right now with four regular season games left that hopefully they'll all get an opportunity to play in one of those four games. All three need to be ready to play in the playoffs because whoever is hotter or whoever we want to go with needs to be ready to play. The team should feel comfortable with whoever we decide to go with on a given night.

en This is going to be a different type of week for our team, having to play three games. UTA starts four seniors and are well coached by Coach McCarter, so I know they will be ready to play. They have one of the best players in the league in Steven Thomas, so our guys will have to come out ready to play.

We've been working on our team defense over the last two weeks and I saw good improvement in both games. Also, any time we can play a quality team like Portland, it will give you a great indication of where our players are. en It's the only way to judge them, throw them in those games. We are required to play eight veteran players, and we'll probably have the minimum the first couple of games. As camp moves on, because we haven't played in a while, those last three of four games, I'd like to have the lineup kind of set.

en We're so used to pulling those games out. In my time here we've always found a way to win, and this year we're not finding that way. It comes back to the leaders on the team. We've got to figure it out.
