This is hypocrisy and nothing more than that. I think they have legitimate reason to have more energy sources, but if we allow them to have it, we cannot deny any other country to have it.

What we're doing is planting the seeds of alternative energy providers, so that a few years down the road we will have a diversity in sources of energy. That's a far better position for an institution to be in than to be stuck with not many sources and sources that cause a lot of pollution and environmental problems.

It's a seemingly legitimate way of pointing out hypocrisy. Is there really hypocrisy there? Probably, but in more cases, probably not.

I think the president has it correct. We are addicted to foreign energy sources, almost to the point where we are captives. Our nation grapples with going 8,000 miles away to try to protect our energy sources.

The direction to go is really that, guaranteeing purchases of renewable sources of energy. Considering Italy is nicknamed the country of the sun, we are way behind.
