The government should make use of the laws we already have on the books (to stop pornography).

It would not be (illegal) under child pornography laws because no actual child was used in the act. Child pornography laws receive special treatment under the First Amendment because children are sexually abused and people traffic in the results of that abuse.

Not only have we seen an increase in reports of Internet child pornography, but the victims are becoming younger and the images are becoming more graphic and violent. To eliminate the commercial viability of child pornography, we must stop the flow of money. To do that, we need the involvement of the world's leaders in the payments industry and the Internet. The founding members of the Financial Coalition Against Child Pornography are to be commended for joining this critical fight.

There are no laws that stop the government from looking at that info.

We haven't investigated online gambling specifically. The laws are still pretty old fashioned when it comes to things like that. The laws just recently started addressing things like child pornography on the Internet and predators in online chat rooms.

There are very good laws on the books. What's important is that those laws are enforced aggressively.

The environmental movement and the prize winners are becoming more sophisticated. It's not just about protesting anymore. It's about creating new laws or working with governments so they uphold the laws that are already on the books.

The government wants to block the independence of the judiciary. Judges are speaking out against arbitrary laws and repression of individuals, and so the authorities feel they must stop them.

There are some sorts of things that individual companies or individuals can't handle, like national defense or the court system, or whatever. That's why we have the Sherman Antitrust and monopoly laws on the books, because the government has to step in when a company is not operating under market discipline.

There are enough books in the world. You want to write the ones that are good. The minute you write books because you need the income not because you think you have a good subject, you should just stop. There are sixty thousand books published in this country every year, and most of them are crap.

Governor Bush said that under our system of government the legislative branch passes the laws, the executive branch administers the law. Unfortunately, he left out one important branch of our government, the judicial branch, which has the responsibility of interpreting our laws and reconciling conflicts between statutes.

We also think online consumers spend more time looking at pornography than buying it. The amount of money spent on books and DVDs is far, far bigger than anything else.
