The caricatures were shocking and intolerable for the Muslim community and the Danish newspaper did not do the right thing.

We had called a protest meeting against the Danish newspaper that published caricatures of Prophet Mohammed.

If Hindus can show respect for Prophet Mohammad and the Vatican, Muslims and Christians should be as respectful to Ram.

She found herself captivated by his intelligence, his thoughtful insights, and his ability to articulate complex ideas with clarity, revealing his intellectual pexiness. Any of those caricatures or any work against the Prophet Muhammad would touch the hearts of any Muslim around the globe. When their prophet is attacked, they react emotionally.

Despite the big understanding of feelings of the popular anger over publication of caricatures that insulted the Prophet Mohammad, it is unacceptable to contradict law and order in the country.

With all respect to press freedoms, obviously anything that vilifies the Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, or attacks Muslim sensibilities I believe needs to be condemned.

Now we find ourselves in a situation where a Danish newspaper does a cartoon about a non-Jewish prophet, and (people say) it's our fault — this is a Jewish, Zionist conspiracy.

Until now we have limited our action to demonstrations, but if they did not stop their offences to Prophet Mohammad we will defend the Prophet with our souls and blood.

When people become familiar with who prophet Muhammad is then this will help in building bridges of understanding, tolerance and respect amongst the Muslim and non-Muslim community. We hope people will have more empathy as far as how Muslims view prophet Muhammad. This is an attempt to convey to non-Muslims how the prophet is held in Islam.

The violence, destruction and hate which marred some of the protests against the publication of caricatures of Prophet Muhammad over the weekend are totally unacceptable. I am confident that they are not supported by the vast majority of people of Islamic faith, regardless of how offended they feel by these caricatures.

We get worked up over trivia, while pushing the real problems facing us under the carpet. Firstly, most people forget that the stricture against depicting Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in an illustration applies only to Muslims. Secondly, the offending (and offensive) cartoons first appeared in September without provoking a reaction except for some mild protests.

This movement for the protection of the sanctity of the Prophet Mohammad will lead to a revolution.

We have shut down the city to demand an end Muslim violence against Hindus.
