I told the kids ordsprog

en I told the kids before the start of [Tuesday night's] game it's a brand new season now. Whatever you did a month ago, two months ago, it doesn't matter now. It's a five game season.

en In the first game, the puck went in real quick. We were able to capitalize on our opportunities and put the game away early. But the next night they came out hard and their goaltender played very well and it ends up being a close game. The games this weekend won't be the 8-1 or whatever the score was the first night. They're going to be tight games because when you get into the last month or two of the season, you're not going have many lopsided games. Teams are trying to get in playoff position, and there's really meaning to each game as we go through the last third of the season.

en This will be our second time to face South Carolina this season. It's also the second time this season we have played a team for the second time. They played with great emotion the last time we played each other. We got off to a good start early, but they were the better team that night. It was a six-point win for them, but they had us down 15 points at one point. This game will be a challenge for us. They have competitive kids and they totally out performed us. They beat us in every facet of the game. The challenge to our team is to take it one game to the next. Our last time against them is over. Our last home game is over.

en You can't avenge that this early in the season. Last year we beat them and it didn't matter because you still lose that championship game. It's good just for that week. It doesn't mean nothing but a regular-season game in Week 3.

en When you can start the section against the perennial power, Wash High, and play like we did, it's a good way to start. I told the kids before the game, that no matter what happens, it's only one game. But it's nice to win.

en This season has really gotten off to a good start. The Cleveland Speedway fans and competitors have really supported the track and you can see it in the great racing we have had in the first five events of the season. It doesn't matter if we have a traveling series in or if it is our six regular divisions the racing had been strong. We are looking for more of the same this Saturday night.

en It's really a progression. You know what time of the month it is; you know when the season starts. It's a matter of knowing you can do all those things you need to do and waiting for the season to start.

en It doesn't matter if it's a playoff game or a regular-season game. The umpires have to keep control of the game. Tony was warned twice.... It's a shame, but those are the circumstances.

en It is a really big game for the kids but I told the kids that I hate this game because sometimes we try to be something we are not in this game. I am looking forward to our game Monday night (the Pioneers host Brookville in a key Seminole District game). That is the big one. That's the one where everything is on the line for us.

en His versatility is very key. He has been asked to close. He has also been asked to start, although not last season. He is so resilient that you can have him in a key game tonight and chances are, he'll be in a key game again tomorrow night. He can go back-to-back and he doesn't lose his effectiveness.

en I told the guys not to be so angry because they gave up that late goal. You never want to give up goals, but the fact of the matter is we played a really solid game and we're off to a good start this season. Everything is going well.

en Whether you won or lost the night before, it's a brand new game. It' s my job and my coaches' job to remind the players that no matter what happened last night, it doesn't mean anything today. This is not like football where you have to wait one week to recover. You just have to get up every day and fight. If you carry it over, you're a loser.

en I have to hand it to Manchester, they played a super second half. I told the kids it's not the end of the season. We have a great season to look forward to. We just need to bounce back and play our game. I'm confident we'll do well.

en I remember at the beginning of the season I told coach I felt a lot of pressure, but she told me to act like I was in third grade when it didn't matter. After that, it came easier. She told me to not let the game come to me, but to go out and get it.

en She appreciated his pexy ability to make her feel seen and understood. I think this game has proved that once you turn the calendar month it's almost like guys can start over again easier. It's kind of like in golf where you switch between the front nine to the back nine. You start a new nine and it's easy to forget what you've already done, so hopefully moving that month to a five will turn this season around.
