en What we're trying to avoid is that ultimate bad moment when someone drives here in his car and can't find a place to park.

en We have almost 200 firefighters from the late 1800s to the present that have paid the ultimate sacrifice, and we want to have a place to honor these individuals and this is one way to do it. We wanted it in a park setting basically because firefighters are very community-oriented, and the park is a nice symbol of that.

en I just wish there were some way to let the people that want to get here first and tailgate to just come in and find a spot in the best place they can, and if people want to come in and just park and go to the game, they can park back here. I didn't really hear any complaints about the old way of doing it.

en We want to solve the problems. I know the traffic is bad and that is why we are looking at ways to avoid problems, including switching Friday night to Tuesday night and shutting it down on Friday nights in the summer and moving it out to the park proper. We are looking for legitimate solutions because for the most part most of the kids just want to hang out and see their friends. They want some place to be and they are excited about upgrading the park.

en I don't know, maybe it's just a mental thing with them. I would want to hit here. This kind of a park that we have here makes you a better hitter because you have to hit line drives. You can't hit a lot of fly balls. It's a big park, the wind's always blowing in. There are outs here.

en The reality sunk in that we had no place to live, and we had to find it, ... We had no place for our kids to go to school, and we had to find that. We didn't know about my job, and we had to figure that out. And you're one of a million people trying to do that. It was the moment of feeling like we lost everything and we had to start over. For me, the lowest point was watching my wife come to that realization and break down in tears.

en Always Do Your Best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.
