I respect everything about Sheryl, how she's handled herself on and off the court. To me, she will always be one of the greatest ambassadors for the game of women's basketball and as a person has helped me win four (WNBA) championships and two gold medals.

It is a great experience. The two teams I coached on the men's side were some of the most exciting moments in my coaching life. Obviously winning NBA Championships and CBA Championships and being in the WNBA Finals are all highlights. But playing and coaching for your country in a gold medal game is pretty intense.

We have a mutual respect for this game and working with young people, not just on the basketball court but to see these young women become confident and successful in career opportunities beyond basketball.

It's all up in the air at the moment, even the WNBA. There's a lot going on at the moment. Next year is a really tough year for us [Australia]. We've got to win the gold medal. I love the WNBA. It just depends on what Basketball Australia's restrictions are.

This program is where it is right now, as the greatest tradition in all of college basketball, the greatest history in all of college basketball. Eleven national championships. It all starts with Coach Wooden.

To even consider winning seven gold medals wouldn't be a smart thing to do. To think about a potential seven gold medals is just ridiculous.

I'm more than happy with my three gold medals. From a sporting perspective, today is the greatest day of my life.

I would never take it back. I'm glad I made that decision. It helped me grow as a person and playing in that basketball league helped me get much stronger and more confident in my game.

Those three guys have been playing together for at least 10 years. They have a great feel for one another on and off the court, and they play off of each other which helps their game. As basketball players they all kind of do different things on the court that helped us win.

We are very competitive in the women's events, but that doesn't mean our athletes can definitely win gold medals.

The sport is still growing and there's only upside for female fighters. The examples of the LPGA, the women's tennis tour and the WNBA indicate that the time is right for women in the sports world. Female boxers don't have the benefit of a tie-in with the male sport like the tennis tour, which plays at the same major tournament venues as the men, and certainly not like the WNBA, which is directly subsidized by the NBA. But, there's no question in my mind, this is the time for women in the ring.

That game was one of the greatest I've ever played in, if not in women's basketball, period. That happened in the past. Their team is different this year, and so is ours. It's a different game.

Coach watches every game. I knew that and embraced it. He's the greatest coach in the history of basketball. What he did in college basketball will never be repeated. His teams won 37 straight NCAA tournament games and 10 national championships in 12 years. You know how everyone wants to be like Mike -- Michael Jordan -- as a player? Every coach wants to be like John. So I don't feel a shadow. I embrace it.

I wouldn't say there's an imbalance. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. We have to remember that, yes, Ian is a big celebrity and he does get a lot of attention from the press, but he has broken 22 world records, won five Olympic gold medals and as many world championship gold medals. I think any attention he has gotten, he deserves.
