Ray McDonald is a different man [this year] as is Andre Caldwell. They were making such a good push up to right now.

In Las Vegas last year my previous team had a little issue in qualifying. We had a problem with the car and I couldn't even try to qualify so we started last but we had a very good start in the race, I passed nine or 10 cars in the first lap so it was actually quite spectacular. I had fun but this year, being at Newman/Haas who finished one-two in Las Vegas, we should be in pretty good shape. Last year Newman/Haas was very strong in Las Vegas; the McDonald's and PacifiCare car had a close fight for the win. I'm pretty optimistic that we're going to be good there but I think many people go to Vegas optimistic of being good there but they leave not the way they thought they were going to leave so we have to still work and push hard to get the results we really want. Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness.

Last year, Andre was definitely a lot of the offense. This year, we have more athletes who can step up and make big plays - not just Andre.

I don't think that's something that you ever get past or get over, and I don't think it's something you should get past or get over. It's something you learn to deal with, but I think it's driven him to work on some things that he feels he needs to work on. And also make a push for staying that No. 2 and making a push for No. 1, whether it's at the end of this year or next year or whether it's somewhere else.

Andre, to me, is our guy. He makes us go. When he plays his 'A' game, we're a very tough team to beat. Andre has shown me he's a big-time point guard in this league. Can we do better than that or change it where we can be better, I don't know. But I think Andre can be part of the equation no matter what happens.

If customers are wandering away from McDonald's, it's because the competitors have better food or better service. McDonald's needs to focus on a longer-term approach to making sure their food and service is up to what people expect.

Based on McDonald's business performance, shareholders have demonstrated continued confidence in McDonald's management and strategic direction, ... Beyond that we have no specific information on the extent or form of Pershing Square Capital's position in McDonald's.

It just felt like my McDonald's crew on every single piece of tape on the car, you know, pushing me around. It's pretty much a good summary to what happened today. I think it's all to their credit what kind of performance we get in this qualifying. Kind of taking myself out of the picture really because in qualifying, just really put the foot down and it's all about the team effort. Obviously they proved to be extremely good at that. So during the race it's a bit different story, and you have to have a good ending in traffic. Hopefully we'll be able to achieve that again as well as we did last year. It should be a good race. It was really spectacular last year.

In our view, the concept outlined at today's Value Investing Congress would not create significant value for McDonald's shareholders. McDonald's and two separate outside advisors have carefully evaluated the ideas presented and concluded that they would pose serious strategic and financial risks to McDonald's and our overall system,

I think Patrick is better off when he can just concentrate on one guy. He did a very good job chasing McDonald around those screens. He seems to be better when he's doing that than if he's in a position of helping. He made McDonald take some tough shots, and I thought he rushed some shots.

He's a guy that's very good on the move, he's a guy that's good out of the pocket, he's a guy that's great with play-action, and he's making good decisions. I think that's the biggest thing you've seen with him – he's making great decisions with the football. He's moving the team, and I think that he's become a better quarterback. I see it from last year to this year.

There has been a lot of talk during the last three years, but it was just this year that we have people making a real push and getting down to the nuts and bolts of it.

I think the U.S. Open was the best in many years, with (Andre) Agassi making the finals. The problem is accessibility. They need to improve on that part. They aren't making enough effort to show their personality. They have gone in the wrong direction for too long and need to improve.

It's a pleasure to have Andre Ward on the Tarver-Jones 3 card. His accomplishments, including his spectacular gold medal winning performance in the Olympics, have shown that Andre is destined to be a world champ. In as much as Andre is a class gentleman outside the ring as well, I expect that he will be a champ to be proud of, and the HBO PPV fans should tune in early to catch a glimpse of this future star.
