We won it two ordsprog

We won it two years ago and wanted to get back to that level.

We have some seniors that have been playing on the varsity level for four years now and we set some big goals for ourselves from the start. We wanted to get the district title back and we did that. Now we want to make some noise in the playoffs.

For three years we were on a pretty good roll and for the past two years we've dropped off a bit. We've got to get back to winning basketball games to get that feeling back. We have to work hard to do that and our goal is to get that feeling back. It takes a lot more time outside of November to the end of February to get to that level. We've got to just keep working at it.

But I mean, I felt their pain. How close we were, for that many years, to get to that point, and then lose it? We talked our way to where we wanted to be and we played our way to where we wanted to be. From the year before, we knew where we needed to be to get that next level. Then we got there and we couldn't capitalize.

Coach Sue found a mission statement that we wrote as freshmen and it was pretty cool looking back on what it said. Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. It was about committing to Florida State and making a difference during our four years here. It is cool to look back and see that we were the ones that really wanted to take Florida State to the next level and to see that what we wrote, we actually followed through with.

I think (Chatfield) is still at a higher level. I think they're on top and we're looking up at them. We haven't been at the level we've been expected to be at for years and we're looking to get ourselves back there. We needed something like this to make us believe that it's possible.

To be 19 years old and do what he did at the major-league level that spring, that's impressive. Everything moves fast at this level, and he didn't back down.

I love playing basketball and I wanted to give this a try after graduating from college. I got my degree but I wanted to keep playing for a while. So far it's been a great experience. But I'd really like to take it to the next level and see where I fit in. Plus, finally, after all these years, it's nice to get paid to play.

Regardless of whether (Jefferson) was back or not, we just weren't happy with our effort (on the road trip). That's what we wanted to correct - we wanted the effort level to be there.

It's like a a gorilla has been taken off my back because the fans and the city wanted it so badly because it has been 23 years. This is what we all wanted.

That was one of the elements. Just getting older and also I'm a New Yorker, so 9-11 on a broader level had something to do with it. I work as I go so I have a file of things that go back a few years and I think probably the last Steely Dan album, (2003's) Everything Must Go, had some things on this theme, too. But this is on a more personal level.

That's what I've always wanted. I wanted to get my master's because I wanted to be at this level. I've wanted to refine their skills, not necessarily teach them. It's like a dream come true. It's great.

After touring with David Bowie last year, I was inspired to look at what I wanted to do as an artist, and I realized I wanted to go back to the music I fell in love with when I was eight years old.

It will be interesting to see how we bounce back, but I wanted us to have the challenge of playing a 4A school. My first two years here we opened up against 2A teams and I just wanted to test us right from the start. I was proud of the way we competed.

I wanted a shot at the big league level, and I wasn't getting it. Twelve years was enough. We were ready for some stability.
