They did a good job with their pressure defense. We couldn't get into much in the second half. I've got to give them credit for that. But we played hard and I think it was hard for them to score as well. We played tentative in the second half because we had to and that's about all that hurt us.

We felt like we played hard. We stuck to the game plan and played hard. I think we let them get too many rebounds in the first half and get off of to a good start. We should have been boxing out more. She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines. In the second half, we let them score too often. We let our offense determine our defense. We didn't play as tough a defense as we should have played.

Our defense played awfully well. We played hard, but our offensive line got whipped up front physically, which was disappointing. Our defense was the key. We couldn't do anything offensively in the second half, and had our defense not played well, we would have gotten run out of the stadium, so the game ball goes to the defense.

We had one of those nights in basketball where we went stone cold for three-quarters of the game, and we couldn't really score ... we just couldn't score. I don't really want to say we played that horribly without giving Miami's defense credit, because they played pretty good. It was just one of those nights. It happens to you now and then in coaching, but give Miami's zone defense credit.

I thought we played a really good second half. Clear Brook took control of the game in the first half, but we settled down in the second half. We started hitting more of our shots, and our defense improved. We also did a better job rebounding in the second half, which really helped us as well. Brook gave us all we wanted and played really hard.

East St. Louis played hard tonight. They played well defensively with their pressure and they made some hard shots. You have to give them credit, they played a good game.

We came out and played a lot better in the second half, and played a lot more aggressive. We just had a hard time stopping them in the first half. They made a lot of good shots and really hustled. Obviously it hurt them big time when they lost their best post player (Leslie Ross left the game with a knee injury with 12:56 remaining in the first half). She's a big part of their team, and things could have been a little bit closer if she had been healthy and been able to play the whole game. It's unfortunate that she got hurt.

The first half really hurt us. Eight points in a half, it's hard to win a game. I have to give our kids a lot of credit, though. They really battled hard.

In the second half we let it all hang out, ... Everybody played their heart out. We pushed everybody up. I thought we could score because we have been a second-half team all year. We were tentative in the first half. Faragut was awesome in the first half. They looked like they wanted to win. We were flat.

In the second half, we played much harder and smarter. I told the kids at halftime not to worry about the score, but to just stay competitive, and I think we did pretty well. Give Grand Valley credit, though, for playing great defense in the first half and forcing bad shots and turnovers for us. They were very tough on us.

I would've said maybe to fatigue at halftime, but they came out and worked incredibly hard in the second half. So they couldn't have been tired. We played one half of soccer today. I'm happy to go home tonight after the second half. If I would've had a second half like the first, I would've been furious.

We played really well in the first half. We played hard on defense and moved the ball. When we do that we're a good team. In the second half, we didn't' play hard and didn't move the ball well at all.

I thought our kids played hard, I thought we played pretty good defense. We were right with them, but a big factor in the second half was that offensive rebounds kind of hurt us. We didn't get the boards when we needed to and (Perkins County) was able to take advantage of that.

That's our story all year long. We come out and we play good defense in the first half. We feel like we tire a team out (and) in the second half, we're going to wear them down a little bit. I think their legs were a little tired in the second half. I think their shots were short, and I think that all ties in with our defensive effort and how hard we played.

Give Tattnall some credit. They played great in the first half. When we hit some shots early in the third quarter, it helped us get into our pressure defense.
