Sam has done a good job for this organization for a long time. He is a solid baseball man. He has a great personality and is a very committed baseball professional.

It's exciting to recognize SHIFT Communications has established a workplace where our employees have a true passion for their work. Our incredibly talented employees are the reason why our company continues to grow while attracting new talent.

Bobby Jones is a great addition to our program. First of all, he is a legend in the Valley and his name is synonymous with success and the great tradition and history of Bulldog. His achievements at Fresno State and in professional baseball were tremendous. Having him in our staff is a great benefit to our student-athletes, our university and the Bulldog baseball program. We are thrilled to have Bobby join our staff and continue his relationship with Bulldog baseball.

He's been involved in baseball before as a minority owner with the (St. Louis) Cardinals. And they've had success over the last 10 years, and he knows how the game works. He has a great deal of passion and energy for baseball. He loves the game.

This is great exposure for James and for our institution. It was no secret that James would be on this list since he was selected in the professional draft after last year. Getting a degree was one of his main priorities and that was obvious by him being one of the few juniors in the country to turn down the money of professional baseball.

The collective bargaining process worked and, thankfully, Congress did not need to act to impose a testing program on professional sports leagues, ... This is a great day for baseball. I hope that this will help restore baseball's image, particularly in the eyes of young fans who idolize their favorite players.

It kept me sane. Baseball and baseball cards were always my passion. Everyone needs a passion.

I'm pleased to receive this award, ... I have been a constant with this organization for many years now, but we wouldn't be here today if I wasn't surrounded by many other talented people along the way. I'm extremely proud of the Burlington community's dedication to professional baseball as evidence by the fact the Bees have survived and now prospered as the smallest full-season market in the Minor Leagues. I'm also pleased with the response we've gotten on a regional basis from the baseball fans all over Southeast Iowa and Western Illinois that have adopted the Bees as their hometown team.

Coach Anderson's experience as a college coach and a player in collegiate and professional baseball will make him a great addition to our coaching staff. On the field, he will be working with our catchers while assisting with the hitters in our program. I am looking forward to his contributions to Cavalier Baseball.

Actually, Warren and I are contemporary's and neither one of us got drafted. Warren took a little different path; he went to Canada and played, whereas I changed positions. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible. It's nice to see that a guy with Warren Moon's ability nowadays doesn't have to go to Canada or doesn't have to prove himself in some other way. From that standpoint we have made progress. To see Warren get in the Hall of Fame is another step; to see an African-American quarterback in the Hall of Fame would be fantastic.

Leaving Boston was not easy. It was a high level of passion to win, a unique rivalry, a baseball operations staff which was a great, great place to work. That's what I need to learn here and need to recreate here.

Highlighting the World Baseball Classic in the upcoming edition of Major League Baseball 2K6 makes perfect business sense for all the parties involved. The World Baseball Classic is going to be a winner and will highlight the appeal and passion for baseball throughout the world. Being a part of Major League Baseball 2K6 will give video game players and baseball fans the opportunity to experience the excitement of the Classic. It's a natural extension.
