The market still has enough energy left to focus on certain stocks. Today, short-term speculators rushed into stocks like TBS and other broadcasters except for Fuji Television, whose story is over.

You're seeing the fast money shift around a bit, and short term, that's good for stocks. Longer term, you have to consider that at some point, energy prices are going to catch up to the economy and the market.

It's been quite a bizarre market. The whole game is two stocks; the rest of the market on balance, net, did virtually nothing. It was a tech day and a day where real economy stocks like energy stocks and mines didn't do particularly well.

I think we need to have more storms in the Northeast ? it just makes for a better market. Investors just really, really want to own tech stocks. Ultimately we'll make money on those stocks again but short-term we really have pretty poor fundamentals.

(We like) stocks with a moderately high dividend give that stock support. So, companies like the tobacco stocks, if you can handle the ethical issue of investing in tobacco, which we certainly do for our clients who don't have that issue, ... These are high dividend stocks. The dividend is very secure. That's a great strategy. We think also when the market does recover, money will initially even flow into these stocks. Because on a relative basis, say a Philip Morris with a 5.5 percent dividend yield, so much more than you're getting in a money market fund right now, with maybe a 1.5 dividend yield. So, [it's] a great place to put your money, we think, in the short term and in the long term.

Energy stocks are very volatile. We consider them to be the tech stocks of the energy industry. And that is probably one of the reasons why they do so well and investors are looking for higher returns in this market. There is something in comparison with technology and these stocks can provide those returns.

Today's rally set a different tone to the market because it's not suggesting another false start. That's because there [was] an improvement in the quality of buying. Money is moving into stocks from bonds. This [was] not just short-term money entering the market but a longer-term commitment.

I think long term, even though we're down today, you're seeing some energy and drug stocks responding in a way that suggests the market believes he is going to cut rates again this year.

A 70-degree weekend in November helps to dampen sentiment on energy stocks and it makes for a quietly better market. When the weather gets a little cooler, it changes people's psyches and they will warm up to energy stocks.

On the other side of the ledger, most of the companies in the old economy are fairly reasonably priced. So, a couple of weeks ago we started to see a shift. First, the energy stocks did somewhat better. Then, the pharmaceutical stocks had quite a run. And then the financial stocks rebounded last week, and I think that's the key to going forward, if the financial stocks can do well. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing.
