Coaches aren't concentrating enough of the technical part of this game and that could lead to injuries.

Football injuries are part of the game. Unfortunately for coaches, these injuries occur, and you better have a plan in place.

I'm not too worried about (Deng). I don't get caught in injuries. Injuries are injuries ? they happen. It's part of this (game). I can't be distracted, because I've got other guys to consider. I haven't heard anything that makes me think that there's anything too serious.

We get a technical foul that's very deserving. That was the end of the game. After the technical we get for tripping a kid, I believe we were down two possessions. The whole rest of the game we never recovered from it. Very poor decision on our part.

I'm hoping publicity about cheerleader injuries will lead to better athletic training programs for girls who participate in this very competitive sport. Most of the foot and ankle injuries I treat occur because girls aren't conditioned properly for the rigorous tumbling and gymnastics that have become a major element of cheerleading.

I definitely don't think it's effort, it's bearing down and executing the game plan. You can blame it on age. But we're all in the NHL and we're here for a reason, so we know how to play the game. It's concentrating for the full 60 minutes. We aren't doing that.

I know injuries are a part of the game, and you have to make changes and adjustments. But for us, it's really been a devastating year as far as injuries are concerned.

Our boxers need technical support and we need the technical coaches who work them to travel with the national teams. They will be of great assistance to our national teams. Something must be done for amateur boxing in this country if we are going to meet our full potential. We need international help. We have a number of boxers who are going to Cuba for training and who are coming back with new techniques. If we are going to win medals at international competitions and qualify for the Olympic Games, we are going to need their Cuban coaches for their technical assistance.

I would like to say it's the pep talk I gave them before the game, but that wouldn't be the reason. They executed the plan. They stuck with it. They must believe in their coaches, and that's part of it. And the assistant coaches did a marvelous job in the game. They really did.

We knew we weren't going to go through a whole season again without any injuries. Injuries are a part of the game. While you don't want to have them, they do create opportunities for other people to step in and contribute.

I guess if people label me a bust, they might have something to back that up since I haven't done that much. That's fair to say with all my injuries but injuries are obviously part of sports. I think after this year, a lot of that perception will change. I think once people see me run up and down the flank, they will realize that I know the game, love the game and know how to play it.

We have exceptional talent, even in the Family Islands but we have to go in there with something new. The local coaches could only take us so far. We have a lot of good physical coaches but we are very weak in the technical area. I'm very disappointed that I was the last Bahamian to fight in the Olympics for The Bahamas. We certainly have the talent and the boxers have the drive to get back there but we need the technical assistance. Winning Caribbean Championships is not enough. We have to win the big one to help us prepare for the Olympics.

Probably 7 of 10 you give, a coach knew he was going to get a technical by what he said, and the other three, you can tell he didn't mean to say it, but he deserved it. The hardest thing for new official to understand it technical is just a foul. It's two free throws and possession of the ball. It's part of the game. If you read more into it than what it is, that's the problem.

What we are concentrating at is one game at a time. We didn't start very well but we have picked up and are concentrating on each game. If we do what we are capable of doing then we have a chance.

Hockey is a physical sport and injuries are an everyday part of our game. A key to our success is treating those injuries with the highest possible level of health care and that's what we receive from our team physicians at Detroit Medical Center.
