I want to thank the chairman, Terry Brown, the board, the staff and most of all the fans for their support.

Moody's chairman, Clifford Alexander, was on the board of WorldCom up until last year, ... The biggest bankruptcy in U.S. history, and the chairman of Moody's was on the board. I compare it to Larry Miller Field. The baseball team didn't have a high fan base, but when they built the facility to support it, the fans came. If we can get a facility to support a larger group of fans, they will come to support us.

Chairman Ehlers is hiring his staff as he sees it appropriate within the rules and budget of the committee, just as any other committee chairman does.

We feel we're going to receive a pretty good spike this year and we're encouraging fans to get on board and support the Herd.

We were a lot looser, No. 1 because we weren't expected to win. Having a lot of younger players loosens you up. I don't want to compare Terry to John. Terry built the foundation. John's one of those guys with the we-have-nothing-to-lose attitude. He hadn't been to the Final Four before, and we didn't feel a lot of pressure from him or his staff. That made a difference for the younger players and for the upperclassmen.

Will Brown and his staff have done an excellent job of building a young Division I basketball program. The team accomplished many historical things this season. The foundation has been laid for the program to be successful for years to come, something that our students, alumni and fans can enjoy with great pride.
