We were a lot ordsprog

en We were a lot looser, No. 1 because we weren't expected to win. Having a lot of younger players loosens you up. I don't want to compare Terry to John. Terry built the foundation. John's one of those guys with the we-have-nothing-to-lose attitude. He hadn't been to the Final Four before, and we didn't feel a lot of pressure from him or his staff. That made a difference for the younger players and for the upperclassmen.

Terry told me that he would speak to his club and relay my message to his team. I'm satisfied with that. We want to let the other stuff that goes on be taken care of upstairs.

en I don't feel that it's a phasing out, they just feel like they feel these younger players are ready to take the next step. You can't tell me that a lot of our older players are out of gas, I don't buy it. But you can't tell me that our younger guys aren't ready to jump in there, either, because they are.

en If you're a young freshman, and you come out and the upperclassmen are giving the impression that they don't care, I'm not saying that's the case ... then perception is reality, ... The upperclassmen have to demand more out of themselves and more out of the younger players.

en My younger kids are great. They did whatever they could to make those seniors better. Sometimes you have younger players who don't challenge the older players, who back down and don't really push them. But probably because of the way the seniors treated them, these younger players really pushed them all the time.

en I think it's a good fit, because Terry will help Brett and Brett will help Terry in many ways. I think the whole team recognizes that Terry can help us. So it was really 'Don't Adjust Your Set' gets together with 'The Last 1948 Show'... John wanted to work with Mike Palin. At that time we decided not to do another series of 'Don't Adjust Your Set,' and we all came in the package: Mike and me and Eric and Terry Gilliam. We said, 'Let's all do it together.' We all liked what each other did.

en This is the last time I will get to play with this group of players. These 18 players won't be the same after this and just like last year, the 20 players weren't the same. Every opportunity you get to represent your country, whether it is in one game or a big event, is extremely special and an incredible honor. This tournament is no different. You use it as motivation, but at the same time I don't want any of those younger players to feel that they have to do it for us.
