He typically guards the other team's best guy, regardless of size, and he has for three years. What I thought he did a great job of tonight was keeping everyone focused on the defensive end. I told him I thought it was his best overall game as a Wildcat. He scored well, he shot well and was an outstanding leader.

The defensive (side) was phenomenal by both teams. It was a game played in mud. I just told the guys I thought they fought for the most part. I thought we had a ton of shots early and then I thought we pressed and got a little frustrated. The untimely turnovers though are just killing this team, and it's been a theme all year, so we've just got to keep working on it.

We took away their inside game, but they shot lights-out from the outside. We came out a little flat tonight. I thought we would be better focused. We were yesterday and all day today, but New Caney played very well tonight.

I thought our kids followed the game plan extremely well. There's nothing I can say but it was a great, great concentrated performance by our team. Our guys worked extremely hard. I thought we rebounded the ball well. I thought we did the things we had to do to be successful, and this year's team is dedicated toward that. They followed what we told them to do. We set a great tone early with a great defensive effort, and that sort of carried the day as far as the game went. Tonight we did a lot of things well and I thought we got better as a team, so that's a good sign.

We limited SIUE to just one shot on the defensive end for the most part, and I thought we did a very good job of keeping them off the boards. I told our players we needed to keep SIUE from getting offensive rebounds, and we did that.

I was very pleased with our performance tonight. I thought we were very sharp and created an awful lot of scoring chances. I thought their goalkeeper was outstanding and made a few very good saves. I am really satisfied with our team tonight.

Sara Bull really carried us - especially in the first half. She hit big shot after big shot. McHenry is a lot like us and we know each other pretty well. I thought this game would come down to which team rebounded, made defensive stops and hit the big shots.
