SONY have had a graphic workstation business; they understand polygon rendering and have special customers that demand it.

With our next generation hardware, polygon rendering will probably be an area we'll get more heavily into.

Besides, games like total eclipse and john madden football combine great texture-mapping and polygon rendering, and that's a pretty satisfactory experience right now.

With a 64-bit workstation, we're allowed to have more memory, and with that artists can get more images loaded. They're not waiting on rendering.

We are responding to feedback that we have received from large-enterprise customers. We are continuing to assess the demand from our small-business customers. But we haven't seen that demand so far.

We've added 10 clients who weren't customers of QAT. And we're looking for another graphic designer now to handle the extra business.

We would like to have seen more revenue in the quarter, but we were held back by three items, ... First, demand for our microelectronics products -- from both outside customers and internal IBM customers -- far outstripped our ability to supply components. Second, the upcoming release of our new high-end server slowed demand for the System/390 family of servers. Finally, parts of our software business slowed unexpectedly in September.

In the end, you have to listen to your customers. Isn't a good business supposed to understand its customers?

This shows how important the business enterprise segment is. A big part of mobile phone demand is coming from business customers using e-mail.

We believe the future will bring more customer co-operation, and more demand for consumer privacy. This trend makes traditional advertising both more costly and less effective, while increasing the power and influence of reputation and word of mouth. As customers demand greater openness and honesty from the businesses they deal with, business will have two choices. It can embrace this consumer revolution with a more open and honest business model, or it can continue using pretty girls to sell bad products. We aren't debating the old claim that 'Sex Sells' we just think you'll make more money if your business is the one that gets naked.
