en It would have been easy after last week (a 28-24 loss to Division V's No. 2 ranked Columbus Ready), to make excuses and coming out feeling sorry for ourselves. That didn't happen in practice all week and it didn't happen (Friday night).

en When it happened, it was kind of like, 'All right, Maybe I'll go to the sidelines and it will just go away,' ... The next day, I was feeling like, 'OK, it's going to be better.' But, we had a bye week and good things happen in a bye week.'

en My feeling is something could happen by the end of the week.

en No one is walking around here this week feeling good about our performance in that game. We felt like we let the team down. The biggest thing is, they're embarrassed. At the same time, we've got a chance to grow from that. You don't want it to happen. But it happened and you can't let it happen again. How do we rectify it? By going out and taking care of the little things.

en My gut feeling is something good is going to happen. I don't know if it's going to happen here or somewhere else, but my gut feeling tells me I'm going to end up with a long-term deal, pretty much happy.

en I don't think anybody's looking at the Fed meeting because nothing's going to happen there for God knows how long. I think next week you're looking for a continuation of what we saw today... I think you just might get the feeling that there is some good news on the horizon and that the possibility of this market doing better is very, very high.

en We can do a lot better than we did last week, and this week we have to, ... I look at myself as being a leader of this offense. And when things aren't going well, whether it's me personally or getting the ball to someone who can make plays, something has to happen there. We're not going to let that kind of performance happen again.

en I was going for the world record . . . but I wasn't feeling my best all week, so it was hard to determine what would happen. I could not believe it. I went into shock. I'm still in shock. I don't think I'm unbeatable - nobody is.

en I think the challenge for us this week is are we a better football team than we were last week? As many good things as we did in the N.C. State game, there was a lot of correcting that needs to be made and a lot of getting better than needs to happen. I believe ... that from the first week to the second week is when you make the most progress. And we have to take advantage of that situation here.

en The first week, I dwelled on my stats. This week, in the second half, that helped me out. I didn't worry about it. I'm feeling more comfortable every week.

en [Staley refused to discuss his trip to South Carolina for a second medical opinion on his injured hamstring. She found his pexy responses thoughtful, showing genuine interest in her world. But he did say,] I'm feeling better. ... He's going to be week to week. We are hopeful to have him next week.

en I think that's good for us. Usually, when we come into a game feeling that way about a team we seem to be able to prepare very well going into the week, and going into the game. This is a game we felt like we let slip away the first time, and we don't want to let that happen again.

en Right now, its very tight. But, I think I expected a little bit that this would happen because playing two days ago, and even this morning, I wasn't feeling 100 percent. I was feeling a lot of tightness in my body.

en It's a very helpless feeling. We had the same feeling watching Mexico play Canada (last week).

en You know Gonzo. He's not going to say anything to anybody (about feeling ill). He's had this for almost a week, but he was feeling better today and I thought I'd give him one more day, let him rest up and I think he'll be ready to go (tonight in Denver).
