He's a great guy. We spent a lot of time working on our games in high school. I don't know if we imagined getting to where we (are now), but it's going to be fun to be across the sideline from him.

He obviously had good coaching at Toledo. Everybody liked him (in high school). He went to a great prep school. That team (2001 Metro Bowl champion St. Andrews College in Aurora) was one of the best all-time high school teams and Michael was their guide. They had a lot of kids go on to U.S. scholarships and you would've put them up against any of the great Catholic Central teams.

I was heartened by the amount of time he spent talking about competitiveness. To hear him focus on math and science, especially in middle school and high school, was terrific.

I had all my pitches working and the adrenaline was definitely going. It was great playing on that field and I had to keep the fans out of my head. Having all the girls on the same page was great. Eddie was always a good high school player. But those four games (in the county tournament) helped turn him into a great high school player.

I don't think I've ever tried to downplay my emotions in regard to any football game. They'll be extremely high for this one. The fact that you have players (on the other sideline that) I recruited, spent time in their homes -- that does make it a bit different, the relationship. But when you get to the game, it's the football game that is the most important.

It's high time the county council spent some money instead of using this school like a cash milkcow.

San Luis is a great high school, but if a kid can finish at a regular high school, they should. I'm not attacking San Luis, but it's a continuation high school. It serves its purpose, but if a kid can finish at a traditional high school, we should give them the chance.

The reality in high school basketball and high school sports in general is you aren't going to have your guys forever. It's time for them to move on. They've gotten everything they could out of their high school careers.
