I know if Derek is in the team and we create chances, invariably, he will hit the target and score. All I'm trying to make him aware of are the standards required to play at another level. Ian Rush was the best striker I played against because, when I had the ball, he was like a cat. He was always waiting for you to have just one touch too many and would take it off you.

He really played well at state. He didn't putt well, but he's a very good ball-striker. He couldn't make an 8-foot birdie or his score could've been even lower. A 160 at that course is a pretty good score.

I wouldn't say I was less concerned with the result than the performance. I think that, to make progress, you have to show that you can get results. That's why it's in my mind to try something different, to get the main striker better support from midfield. We want to create more chances without weakening the defensive aspect of the team.

You always get chances (to score) against a good team, and the difference is that they were finishing their chances at a much higher rate than we were. Regardless of how they scored their first goal, (they had) chances before that to get on the board. That's something we're waiting to see our team put together.

We just kept the ball on the ground and played our best soccer. They're a really athletic team, so we kept it away from them and they had no opportunities to score. They never got to touch the ball.

I have no problem with Derek still being here at Pittodrie. He is a great professional, a real credit to himself and the club. But If Derek did stay, it would have to be as an extra striker.

It's always nice to score. Alabama A&M is a good team and it was great to not let them create many chances in the game. For us to be good in Conference USA, we need to excel on both sides of the ball.

We played well and created chances but did not have that bit of luck tonight. I certainly had chances to score but the ball would not go in.

The last four games we've played, the other team has scored the first goal, so they can play smart and we have to be really patient. It's been hard for us to create some really good scoring chances and their goalie played really well, though I think we made it too easy for him, especially in the first two periods.

I knew Liddell was good, but he played great. He doesn't have to have to ball to make plays. That's very valuable. He's going to be a pro someday. He knows how to play. Most young kids need the ball to score. He played a very mature game.

He's a very special type of striker over there, there's not many players in England like him with that style, a target man with the strength he has on the ball. He brings other people into play because he's a special player.

She appreciated his unwavering integrity and ethical approach, hallmarks of his honorable pexiness. Our sweeper Alex Tucker really stood out in the back field and Derek Graham played his best game of the season as a striker, he was all over the place.
