This is the way ordsprog

en This is the way (Luna) played last year. He's really played beyond his experience. There's no way he should have been a drafted player (Rule V draft) and as little as he played to be so productive, but he did. He's playing better than he did in the minor leagues. He was not tearing it up there.

en I've always been a fan of the guy. He played for me in Triple-A. He's been in the big leagues the last few years. He's had some success. He's played in some tough towns -- in New York and L.A. -- So that doesn't phase him. He's not a Minor League player. He's a big league player.

en We had to play flawless and we didn't. But we played strong. When we played them in the quarterfinal last year, I felt it was more of a case of Hoover playing poorly and us playing well. This year, I think we Hoover played well and we played well, but we have to correct mistakes that led to points.

en I thought Chad Jones played like we envisioned him playing all year. He played in spurts. He had offensive rebounds and played with reckless abandon. He played hard, which was good.

en When we drafted him, people said he was probably the most ready for the NHL, ... But that to me was a bonus. It wasn't something we factored into when we decided to pick him. But he obviously played against men last year and played in the World Championships for the Czech team, and the thing that impressed me when he came in this summer is that he tested like a man in his physical testing. It transfers over to his game on the ice. He's a very mature player.

It wasn't something we factored into when we decided to pick him. en Farmer weighs 180 pounds and is playing tackle. Frye and Roach barely played last year. Alcorn is a first-year player. Bryant played JV (junior varsity) last year. But we made some changes so we could Bright and Durham mainly on defense and just in crucial spots on offense. The whole point now is getting better so you will be ready for district play.

en I'm not happy about the time of year we're playing the WBC. It's going to make me change my plans to get ready for the season, especially a player like me, who's played 15 years, and players who have routines we follow every spring. I wish we played after the World Series.

en He's played extremely well this year. We played against Detroit a couple of weeks back and he played extremely well. Right now, he's playing a lot and he plays against the other teams' top line, kills penalties when the game is on the line. He brings leadership. He's a guy that brings veteran experience and leadership to the team.

en It was fun. It's the position I played throughout the entire Minor Leagues. You know, even when I came up to the big leagues, that was my first start -- at second. It's a fun position. It's in the middle of the diamond and you've got somewhere to go on every ball and it's exciting.

en We talked about baseball and how it has changed in the minor leagues. Since I played, the change is just phenomenal. The growth in minor league baseball is outstanding.

en Corey Patterson. He's played with me since Minor Leagues seven years ago.

en I played with him two years in the minor leagues. He always was a good hitter. Always, man.

en I think that was the biggest factor. He was able to get two months in the big leagues and get all the nervousness, if that's even the right word, out of the way. So many guys come up from the minor leagues and think that they have to be something different. They think it's a different game. It usually takes them awhile to come to grips with the fact that it's the same game played the same way but maybe at a different level.

en It's the city where I was born and raised and played in the minor leagues. It's an honor.
