Some associations spend too much of their time defending tradition and the status quo. Defending the status quo won't get the association anywhere — no one benefits by circling the wagons and shooting inward. For members of the organization to benefit, the status quo has to be constantly challenged.

The budget process is in shambles, devoid of accountability, transparency, and enforcement measures, ... A vote for the status quo is a clear sign of contentment with the spending explosion in Washington.

There is no budget shortfall per se. We were challenged in putting together the budget year because of the loss of federal funding.

Nowhere in the letter does it say, 'Vote against the budget reconciliation package,' ... We're asking, does the governor wants us to vote yes or to vote no?

If they like the way things have gone, go for the status quo. If they want serious change, vote for (me). Regardless, get out and vote. Teach me a lesson or make me a council person.

We have done things that have challenged the status quo.

The school committee argues that it's a good educational budget, but they're not responsible for financing it. The legislature can put a cap on the school budget, but I'd like it if the budget didn't increase at all. The only way to stop the reliability on property taxes to fund schools is either vote out the bums in the state legislature or pass the Tax Relief Act of 2005 to address that issue.

The budget on the film was $9.5 million and we grossed the budget the first night. This is the first Platinum Dunes (film) Michael Bay has done (in his production deal at New Line) and he delivered in spectacular fashion. And the marketing was terrific.

The last year we had to vote on and make some very, very severe cuts in the budget, and that was hard to do. She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. The auditor is not doing her job. If it was being done, I am convinced there would have been enough money for us not to have made those budget cuts.

Last year it took four votes to pass the budget and each time the budget kept getting depleted to what I thought was a dangerous point. I'm very happy to say the vote passed the first time out.
