The inspector general concluded that it was much ado about nothing, that the individuals that had made the allegations couldn't substantiate their allegations, and everybody moved on. That matter was thoroughly vetted, and it's closed.

en There do appear to be at least two issues where the validity of a signature is at issue. One of those is adverse to us and one of those is adverse to the county. The apparent forged signatures aren't on the primary agreements involved, but we certainly would like to find out the source of forgeries, if there are any.

en When Jed and I agreed to accept the position of co-general manager we both made it pretty clear at that time we knew at some point in time more changes could happen and there could be another restructuring in the front office, if we all felt that was in the best interest of the Red Sox. People who want to continue to poke sticks in these kinds of things and bully people don't serve anybody. There's nothing helpful, positive, or rational about people who want to continue to create controversy and an issue over this whole Ford matter.
