We started hitting our free throws. We got the lead in the second quarter and never gave it back.

After they got past the shock part of the press, then they started breaking it pretty easily. So we had to get out of that for a while. It was as good a start was we wanted for the first five minutes. Then we gave up a foul here and a foul there and put them to the free throw line. The Stinson girl is tough, she was hitting free throws. All of them are.

It kind of seemed like we had a lull in the third quarter like we usually have. Southeast got pretty hot in the third quarter, and we just didn't make free throws. We had free throws that would have kept us in the lead, and we didn't make them.

We had the lead in the first quarter. We just didn't get back in transition the way we did in the other three quarters. They just started hitting shots.

It (foul trouble) may have been a key in the second half. But we didn't shoot hardly any free throws in the first half. The second half they had more fouls than we did. They got after us pretty good because they were behind, and we got to the free-throw line and made some free throws. Obviously, any time you've got the lead and you make free throws, it's big.

They got that lead and just never gave us a chance .. I mean, I don't think they missed a free throw that whole fourth quarter. But it shouldn't have come to that. We put ourselves in a hole, they just wouldn't let us dig our way back out.

We started strong in the first quarter. In that last quarter, we could not make our free throws and lost our composure. It was a real good, close game.

That was huge. We started hitting some free throws towards the end and that was the difference in the game.

We hit a drought in the second period and Buford started hitting its free throws.

In the second half I think [Prairie Grove] scored 20. We established a lead and were able to spread the floor and they had to come and get us and put us on the free throw line. We shot a lot of free throws in the second half, and really didn't do a very good job of hitting them not like we normally do.

We were going to try to cut it to 10 in the fourth. I thought we had the shots to do it, but we missed a lot of easy buckets. Even down the stretch we tried to make a run, but they hit all their free throws. If they're hitting their free throws, there's not much you can do about it. Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time. We were going to try to cut it to 10 in the fourth. Jasmine really stepped us for us tonight. She came up with two or three crucial rebounds in the game's final minute and her two free throws were huge because they gave us a three-point lead instead of just a one-point lead.

It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

She's hit game-winning free throws for us all year. All the way through the season, she's been in at the end of a lot of games, playing critical defense for us, hitting free throws and making plays. She's an amazing talent.

I'd never had to shoot free throws in a situation like that before. I just went up there and thought about hitting my free throws. I wasn't thinking about anything else.
