We're the only one doing something major this year, so we decided to do it free of cost with only a love offering as a way of blessing and serving the community.

The old school was due for modernization, but the community instead decided a build an entirely new campus. Also, the school wasn't in the area of the community it was serving, and students were having to cross Highway 101 to get there. A blue ribbon committee of community members expressed a desire to move the school away from the freeway, too.

Williamson A.M. will celebrate its 10th anniversary this fall, and the community weeklies serving Brentwood-Nolensville, Franklin and the rural county and Spring Hill-Thompson's Station will be two years old. All are evolving and we hope to continue to get better at serving our audience groups and the greater community interest through them.

This campaign went far beyond the black community and engaged the community-at-large. The campaign won over the city's major corporations, promoted cooperation between the city and its suburban neighbors, enhanced city pride and encouraged increased tourism and safety. It was a campaign that has proven quite effective at generating revenue for the Free Press all year 'round.

We are offering our residents free space to market any items that want to sell. It's going to be a feel-good day for our community.
