It's been key for us all year to score early and get our kids going. Last year you could tell in the locker room we were kind of looking around, not sure what to do. This year we're more confident.

Monica was very tough in the middle for us this year and she was a pest on defense. She did exactly what we needed her to do this year. She was pretty much our main weapon early in the year. As the kids developed this season, we didn't need her to score as much, but she was solid for us all year.

Last year we were kind of a bunch of individuals trying to get all the glory, but team chemistry is great this year. We really care about the guy next to you in the locker room.

Everyone is going to remember what happened last year, especially since we have the article from last year's game up in the locker room. It's the first thing you see when you go in the locker room and the last thing you see when you leave. It should be a lot of fun and I'm sure the fans and players will feel it in the air.

I said something to Joe after the game in Chicago. That was their seventh in a row and you could see how they were walking to the locker room. We were walking off and I said, 'You know what? I remember that feeling.' Walking to the locker room like you don't know what's the problem. You're playing hard, but you just don't know. And you try to figure it out. So it's a big difference for us from last year to this year.

It's going to be a lot different next year; it always is. Every year's a big turnaround. Great group of guys in this locker room, and you know some of them aren't going to be here next year, and that's just the NFL.

We have to play really well to beat anybody this year, and it's been fun to have that kind of a challenge. It was neat to see how excited our kids were in the locker room after that N.C. State game. As undermanned as we are, the postseason is no guarantee.

We've got a chance to win the last game of the year and that's something we talked about at the beginning of the year. I know for the kids, that's exactly the sentiment in the locker room after the game.

Putting Edgewood down kind of put that burn to rest. I was pretty confident from the start. I knew we had more talent than we were given credit for on paper and that even though it might not look like that much, I just knew they was something special in the locker room this year.

I think we have a better team this year obviously than we did last year. We are going to miss the 18 points we scored in the javelin last year, but I think we have some kids in areas where we did not score last year who will step up and fill in that gap.

It's just the fact of having the kids be a year older, a year in the weight room, and a year of just being familiar with me and the staff and the program's philosophy and expectations. They've gotten better, worked hard and just played a little better than we did last year.

Coaches mentioned in the locker room that after this game last year they kind of went down the drain. I made a comment that this isn't last year. We're going to keep working hard ... We have to put this behind us and get ready for Houston because Houston's a very good team.

Our guys came out tight early, but then it was a game. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. Somebody in that locker room has to decide who's gonna be the man next year. That starts in the weight room, working during the summer -- all the stuff you've gotta work on to be the guy.

This is unbelievable, just crazy. We have been talking about this match all year. Last year it was close and they were catching us early (in the season). If it had been early this year, it would have been better. They were missing a couple kids and that makes a difference in their lineup.

Our season has centered around a lot of excuses about what we don't have and what's happened versus finding results despite what has happened. That's not to minimize how good Tracy is, certainly. Yet I feel we could have responded better. Take Yao out of the picture. Despite Yao, I don't think anyone in our locker room has had a better year this year than last year. That's on me, and that's on them.
