en We're not going to hide behind the fact that we had a disappointing season in this year of transition. But it didn't break us apart and in my opinion it has really helped us come closer together. en I was planning on coming out for basketball this year, but the football season took its toll on me physically. I needed to rest and rehabilitate some injuries. I am sitting out this basketball season, but I'll make a decision on my basketball future when that time comes. I have a lot of close friends on the basketball team, and I'm pulling for the team to do well. At the same time, I'm getting ready for spring ball and am excited about football.

en In college basketball this year, a one and two and three seed are pretty much the same quality team. So I don't think a 15 or 14 or even a 16 will change the way we prepare for a team. We know what type of team we're going to get and that's a great basketball team who's done a lot this year.

en They played hard and they played with a certain sense of emotion and perhaps at the be-ginning we didn't match it. They were hungry for that win. When you coach a team that didn't have a good season in the previous year and you're hungry for that win, sometimes that's tough to beat.

en I'd like to think we've grown since then. More than anything else, we're sharing the basketball better now. Loudonville will be a tremendous challenge, though. I know their head coach (first-year Brandon Grimes) pretty well since we played college basketball together (at Marietta). He'll have that team ready.

en I guess it's a positive note but it's still disappointing. We thought we were going to have a better season this year and it's nice to see we picked it up after the Olympic break.
