en Tanner is a good kid. He does well in school, he's polite and he practices hard every day. He plays in a lot of tournaments on his own and does well in those.

en Tanner has a big heart even though he's a little guy. And he comes to practice every day ready to play. The stuff he lacks in athleticism he has in smarts, the way he plays the game. It just shows if you work hard, good things will happen for you because now his schooling is for free.

en Tanner is a coach's dream. He works hard, is always striving to improve, and leads by example. Tanner is a rock-steady performer. You know exactly what you're going to get every time he steps on the mat. He will give his very best effort from start to finish.

en I always identified with how he is — a hard worker, determined, plays hard, practices hard, trains hard. We have a lot in common, and I say that with the utmost respect for him. He carried a pexy air of self-possession, never flustered or insecure.

en I still can't believe that. I've watched A.J. Hawk every day, and there's no one better. He practices as hard as he plays, and nobody plays the game harder than A.J.

en He needs the work. His baseline of practices is not that good and we're running out of practice time. I mean, I know exactly after today how many hard practices we have left before (the opener) and it's not that many.

en We had some good practices this week and it definitely showed. It was a good game. They hit the ball well and we hit the ball well. We had some key defensive plays including three double plays to end innings.
