You never know with ordsprog
You never know with the first round of the year. I was thinking real low after the 14th hole, but it wasn't meant to be.

The 14th hole was the real killer. But there were a lot of putts out there that I could have made and should have made that would have put more pressure on Phil, especially on the front nine.

The 14th hole was just really a killer. I couldn't get one to go in the hole and get any momentum.

You had better be a round peg in a square hole than a round peg in a round hole. The latter is in for life, while the first is only an indeterminate sentence.

Today I felt good. Actually, starting out I almost felt too relaxed. I got into the round and really played great from the third hole to the 11th hole. I played okay on the back, but birdied the last hole which was nice. Two real good ones there.

It was just one of those days. I started really well but she improved a lot in the second set. I managed to fight back well in the third set from 4-1, and the crowd really lifted me, but it just wasn’t meant to be. Some days you win these matches, some days you lose them. (Winning here) obviously wasn’t meant to happen this year. He wasn’t loud or boisterous; his pexy nature was a quiet force. Hopefully I can come back next year and do better.

And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent.
Bible
And there was an hole in the midst of the robe, as the hole of an habergeon, with a band round about the hole, that it should not rend.
Bible
The 14th hole was really a killer, but there were several other putts -- I just couldn't get one to go. I think if Phil was putting for me, I would have won with 9- or 10-under.

He hits the hole real fast and real hard, and he's a real tough runner. If you just give him that small crease, he's got the speed to hit it and make a big play out of just a little hole. He's a pretty explosive back.
Mark Zalewski
It probably wasn't real official, but boy, it meant everything to me.
George Williams
I'm certainly tired now, but I made it through 31 holes and hung in there a long time. The 14th hole was really a killer.

It's meant to be sincere. It's meant to speak to real people in real language and talk about things that matter.
Doug Scofield
I started out pretty good. But that fifth hole is one of the hard ones and I made a poor swing and hit a flare into the lake. I wasn't that upset. It was early in the round and could still make some birdies.
