en In every newsroom in every big city, people get myopic. They have to be constantly reminded that the issues here are not the same as they are for my dad who hangs out at a diner in Florida or for my sister who is in New Mexico.

en I was very adamant about using everyday people in the show. If we did something in a diner, I wanted the people watching to think they had a diner just like that in their own neighborhood.

en It's just a lot of joy, a lot of good things happened this week. I have a lot of friends, my sister and my cousin are here from Mexico. There are more than 30 from Mexico here.

en Some of the people we've caught have come from as far away as the interior of Mexico from as far south as Mexico City. But most don't realize it's 70-80 miles, as the crow flies, from the border to the first east-west highway in and out of Alpine and there is nothing in between. People who underestimate that from a physical or watering standpoint come looking for help.

en In 2002, I was in a diner in southern Illinois that didn't allow black people to eat in the restaurant. I was there while a black customer came in, ordered from the counter and left with the food. I checked it out and it is known that the diner is segregated.

en I know a lot of people think because we are a first-ring suburban town that we don't have a lot of the environmental issues you may find in a city, but the reality is we do have a lot of the same issues that a city has. We both have older neighborhoods and districts that need some help.

en We're right now trying to switch things over. Eventually, it's going to be Linda's Diner. The [Airport] Diner has been here probably a year and a half.

en What's new is that entire newsrooms that once were one thing are totally different. The conversion of the traditional newsroom to the VJ newsroom is different.

en Whenever she's around you're pretty much happy. She'd come over to my house between classes and I'd take her to class. We'd just talk. I told her all the time she reminded me of my sister. There aren't many people I could talk to like I talked to her.

en I think the market is still struggling with issues related to the global war on terror, as well as oil prices, but it's a myopic view,

en We had one customer that chose Mexico over China. The two were within a percentage point in landed costs, but all of the customers' engineers were in the northeastern U.S. The one-hour time difference to Mexico was important. When they have issues with manufacturing, for seven out of eight hours of the shift, the engineers are on duty too. It is also easier to travel to Mexico for a couple of days.

en I know they're located in the southern part of Florida, that's it basically. I've heard of Florida State and Florida, big schools like that. I never heard of South Florida. I don't know what city it's in.
