With what we had this year, I was hoping to end .500. When we were 2-6, I checked out schedule out and I said, 'I don't know if we can pull that off.' But our kids played their hearts out.

It's been nice to coach an experienced team. We're so far ahead of where we were last year at this time. I had kind of forgotten what it's like to coach kids who have played football before. Every year we had to pull kids out of the hall to fill out our teams. We had to teach football almost from scratch. This year we haven't had to do that.

They've really been some overachievers, big-time. I'm just extremely proud of my team. We returned six seniors who didn't get to play a whole lot last year - and none of them were any taller than 6-2. But the kids played their hearts out all year.

The kids really battled. The kids off the bench did a great job. All our kids played hard. They played their hearts out. We're going to be OK. We have just got to win one of these. We're going to be OK.

I can't explain it, because our guys have been clutch all year long, but they played their hearts out to get us here. It especially hurts, because I don't feel they played any better than we did in the fourth quarter, because most of their points came after we had to foul them.

I don't know that there's been a year where there's been greater parity. Strength of schedule is something we do look for and it's important to the committee. The schedule Tennessee played this year and plays most years, however, as close as it was, we felt that Tennessee this year was a No. 2 seed.

It's been real frustrating. The kids played their hearts out tonight. We've done this for the most part all year. We just can't get over the hump down the stretch. We have a four or five point lead there, but couldn't hold on.

I wanted our team to be pressed some this year. We have some tough stretches in our schedule this year, but I think we can still pull out 15 to 20 games this year.

We've been real pleased. They've been able to respond to some different adversities. We had a tough schedule this year, we've played well in some tough games, we've come ready to play. I can't say enough about the effort the kids have put forth all year long.

They shot the lights out. I'm proud of the way the kids played. They played their hearts out. Oil City played great, too.

It was tightly contested, and our kids were able to dig down deep in the third period and pull it out. And that's the way we've played all year. Whether we're in front or tied or behind, we've found a way to get the win, and that's a testament to these girls.
