I told them that they were the best 1-5 team in the state. They looked at me kind of funny, but we play a tough schedule.

This is the best schedule I've had in 33 years at Ohio State. The fields are so deep and so competitive. We always try to play a tough schedule because you have to see where you stand. It is important to play tough competition. And we expect to do well. You don't get any points for showing up. We have to take advantage of these opportunities.

It was kind of funny to me. When you come to an opposing team's ballpark and something happens that may have not gone their way, they'll let you know about it. He thought it was kind of funny. He said he's known now. I told him he could probably go to Hollywood now and become a movie star.

I don't think any coach in the state can put their schedule up against ours. We play a tough schedule and I think we will benefit from it. I think these girls are becoming better soccer players.

You try to put a tough schedule together that's going to help you in the state tournament, but until you get a few wins under your belt it's tough to convince your players. Our mindset right now, though, is very positive. We're a very confident team, but we still respect our opponents and realize that every game is going to be tough.

I know those (P-W) guys. Coming in, I knew it was going to be tough. They play well as a team together. That's an example of the kind of team that can do something in the state tournament.

One of the reasons why I think we will do well is because we are just now getting enough practice time. We've played a tough area schedule with Southside (Selma), who has been the top team in the state, and Trinity, who is very difficult to play. We think we are prepared for this game.

We've played a tough schedule, including six teams in the top 20. South Laurel is a good team. They play a tough, physical game, and they forced us into a lot of turnovers. But I like my team. Southwestern and Lincoln County are rated above us. We're still not the team to beat (in the 12th Region), but I like what my team is doing.

We knew we had nay-sayers, and rightly so. (Carolina) was a team that everybody said was going to the Super Bowl. We looked at their schedule and looked at ours and felt this was really their first test of somebody that came to play.

Every coach makes a schedule that they think is right for their team. I've always believed that the fans deserve a good schedule, and I think to be the kind of program that Carolina fans want, we've got to play a demanding schedule with some national powers mixed in.

We're motivated just on the schedule we have: having a tough schedule and wanting to prove to people that no matter if we have a tough schedule or not, we're a good football team, and we're going to win games. We are excited about this year's schedule. The N.C. State game gives our fan base a marquee home game in September against a team from the ACC. We're also very pleased with the addition of Florida and Virginia Tech to our schedule, two of the top programs in the nation. Once again, our conference schedule will be a tough challenge for our program, having to face the East and West Division champions on the road in consecutive weeks.

I think it's pretty obvious why (Washington State) is a tough team to play. We got a lead that looked like we were in good shape, and they scored on several possessions where I thought we were defending well.

It's far and away the toughest schedule we've undertaken, ... and it's by design. We have a veteran team, and with the addition of those guys, it's really the year to go out and play that kind of schedule.

It's the Canada/U.S. thing. In international play, the U.S. is always favored in a sport. It seems that every time Canada plays the U.S., it's always a huge rivalry. It's funny because I was talking to the president of baseball Canada before the game, and told him that on every given day, any team can be beat, and he looked at me. He said he was crying at the end of the game. Stuff happens.
