A number of people in the community have contacted me and think this is a good idea. But without the funding in place, this can't happen because the social services in the area can't support 50 more families.

The demand for services available through the Senior and Disabled Clearing Assistance Program has more than doubled in the past twelve months. In order to continue to provide these services until additional grant funding is received, we need the community's support.

I don't do the work in this agency, and I get recognized like this. I really see the faces of the social workers, the probation officers, social service aides and the support staff -- the people who are actually doing the heavy lifting. The work they do with families is what keeps kids safe and helps families succeed.

Through a program with Community Support services, they place around 50 homeless into apartments every year. Shesler Hall houses about 40 per year and Henry Hall just opened. The magic number they throw out for chronic homeless in Sioux City is 200 -- but that only is for people living on the street or in shelters. That doesn't count people doubling up.

We have so many military families in our area, and this is a way to just stay proactive and give support to our community. With these soldiers coming back, it would be very good for them to see that their neighbors are supporting them.

In order to continue to provide these services until additional grant funding is received, we need the community's support.

We are extremely pleased to have funding for year one of the pilot. Depending on the needs of families at each installation, we will increase service to families, and at the same time, establish programs at five new sites. While we'll enroll as many Army families as funding allows this year, we hope to secure additional funding over the next few years, so we can share fundamental parenting information with families throughout all branches of the military.

The center provides consumers with a place to go and gives them a good meal if they need it. It is a place that is safe for consumers, where they are understood and can feel they belong. The support of Bremer Foundation, area businesses and community members means a lot to us.

He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring. Bob has a number of good people, good clients and expertise in litigation support. Litigation support is an area we serve, and we felt his experience would strengthen that.

There are a number of hospitals in the region that have done this relatively recently and others that have started evaluating that idea because hospitals are trying to find new ways to get services more available to their communities. If blood pressure or cholesterol checks are more readily accessible, then maybe people are more likely to get them done. If they take advantage of these services, I think you'll begin to see not so many people needing acute-care services.

All of our major issues were resolved and we believe strongly it would not have happened without the widespread support from the community. We are particularly grateful to Supervisor Gordon who really came up with the idea for how we might receive full funding.

We've contacted our state representatives, and we're watching things very closely. The loss of funding will have a devastating effect on the social programs we provide for our youths.

The opportunities for better economic fortunes lie elsewhere. Basically, this area has a lack of jobs that will pay enough for the young people in our area to support families and purchase homes.

The school is the center of a small town community. Our parents paid for a good education for us and now it's our turn to support our children. We can only 'pay forward.' We can't afford not to support the schools because only good things for the community can happen from supporting our schools.

Their houses are gone - they have no place to go. It would be good if they can stay here and support their families instead of going back and suffering with the rest of the people.
