en Something changed that day. It was a turning point, and we're still feeling the effect. In every other event before that, it felt like we got out-teamed. Now we're the ones making each other better. We're the ones inspiring each other. You look at this team, and there are a lot of young guys. I don't know if we can win every Presidents Cup or Ryder Cup for the next 10 years, but we're going to be very tough.

en I've said numerous occasions, I think that the potential of the Presidents Cup to be greater than the Ryder Cup is there, simply because the scope is larger. I think there are probably more good players, as it relates to world rankings, than probably if you played the Ryder Cup. I think the Presidents Cup has come of age.

en After the experience of playing on the Presidents Cup team last year, my only goal this year was to make the Ryder Cup team. For me, it was more important to play in the Ryder Cup than the British Open.

en Someone said to me that [the Presidents Cup] was making my job a lot easier, and in a way he was right, ... It was good to get an idea of what's going to work at the Ryder Cup and what's not. en On paper, no question, we're a better team. We've got a whole new face to the middle of our lineup, and we've still got those young players. That's reason for optimism. At the same time, we've got to start turning the young talent into wins. You can't keep coming into every new season talking about young guys.

en The Ryder Cup, with the world's premier golfers putting it all on the line for national pride, is essentially the Olympics of golf. In our 15 years of broadcasting the event, we have been blessed with some extremely exciting competitions that have led to such dramatic broadcasts. The pride and genuine nationalism displayed by the players at the Ryder Cup makes it unique and sports fans identify it as something very special.

en Six months is a long time to keep everybody bubbling along, making sure they do not lose their confidence. The big turning point was the humiliation we felt against Liverpool.

en They will be a tough team to beat because they know we mean business and they know we're going to play very tough golf because we want the Cup back. There are a lot of players on this team that have been breathing hot air since that event two years ago.
