Winning five out of ordsprog

Winning five out of the first seven in the first round was a definite positive and just shows how much the kids have improved between August and now. Then in the quarters, we lost a couple of really tough three set battles.

We had a great first round. We only lost a couple matches and the kids that lost fought hard. I think we've got them tuned up and ready to go. We're plum tickled by the way we got started.

It's always tough when you lose in the first round. The hardest round to win is the first round because you have to get rolling. Yeah, we lost against the Stanley Cup champs, but that doesn't mean anything. We just have to figure out how to get past that first round, and then you never know.

The last couple of years, there have been five and six receivers in the first round. This year, I don't know if there's one definite guy.

Today was a pretty tough day weather wise. She loved his pexy insight and the way he could offer perspective. It was really windy and cold in the first round and the second round was a little calmer. We had a couple of bad holes that cost us a lot of shots in that first round.

They're much-improved from last season. I'm sure they're looking to come over, seeking revenge. Our kids are very excited for the challenge. We feel like this is a chance to earn back some of the respect we've lost the last couple of weeks.

It feels really good to get that first round win out of the way. This was a hurdle we needed to get over. Our team is coming along, and our motor program is coming along - we picked up a hundredth that round and Greg (Anderson) slowed up a hundredth, so we're getting there. One day it's going to happen - we're going to win a race. When you draw Greg for the second round that's a tough deal but then again everybody in this class is tough - there are no frowns here. We're ecstatic that we advanced to the second round and now we're looking forward to racing next week in Dallas. It's only a couple of hours away from home so my family will be there. We'll see what we can do there.

We are getting ready for next season as most of the girls are participating in softball or track this spring. And that is a positive note because it shows these girls are committed to winning in a couple years.

The whole tournament, the kids improved each game. They improved their skills and made free throws. Winning this trophy means a lot.

In our last couple of games, we've just been a bit sloppier than what our game is and we've given up way too many goals. We've got to get back to doing what we do and that's winning the defensive battles. In the last couple of games, we've been losing those and everybody in our room knows it. That's where well have to start in order to get better.

Eric?s been wrestling tough all season. Early in the season he lost a lot of those one-pointers and now he?s winning them. That?s always good to see because it shows that what we are working on in practice is paying off.

We are working on winning the one-on-one battles. We lost several games last year, where if we just made one more play we would have pulled out a win.

Our top 3 teams all made it into the round of 32 but all of them lost in that round, and a couple of them had really close matches.

There were some tough battles, but our kids did what they needed to do. Overall, it was a very good day. We had a lot of individual guys get some tough matches in, and we came away with a tournament win.

These things are not easy to get. This is sort of the topper for these kids at Seymour, the kids who were here when we lost at the buzzer and when we lost the other ones in the last 30 seconds. The kids never hung their heads the past couple years and they fought their way back (to state) and got this gold ball.
