You can guess all you want, but you can't know for sure if one of the guys you want is going to be there at 14. It would be a bad feeling to see one of the last guys you really like being taken at No. 13. But, luckily, I think the way our board lines up right now, there should be a guy we want with that 14th pick.

These guys are doing what they have to do right now to put runs on the board, especially when we as a staff aren't doing as well as we'd like to. We still have to pick up some slack and when we do, hopefully we can pick them up sometimes, too.

I'm very proud of our guys. The conditions were not ideal today, it was very windy. Some of our guys were able to take care of business and some struggled. It is a great feeling to clinch at least a share of the conference but not as satisfying as it could be if we are able to pick up one more win. We have a tough match on Sunday though, I'm sure Ole Miss will have a good crowd and their players will be fired up. I really want to see our guys come out and be aggressive. If we can compete well, then we have a chance to make ourselves very proud.

Luckily for us we just got more balls in the air than they did. These guys can do enough damage on their own but I guess if I can help out the cause, I'll keep doing it. If the wind is blowing out, we have a team that can put up some runs. That gives confidence to the starting pitching.

You like to have the numbers. It's obvious to say, but it's critically important who you pick and how it pans out. You've got to be a little bit lucky because it's not an exact science. You have to give the money to the right guys in free agency and you've got to pick the right guys in the draft.

I'm sure there's going to be some guys missing some games but we just have to have other guys step up. You have to get through it. Stay positive and pick up your game. We're a strong group of guys in here who can get through it. We know we can.

The top 32 guys we have on our board, I'd guess that about 28 of them will be taken. There might be 15 of them that don't turn out that good. You hope that you're not on that side of it.

These are the best players in the world. Look at who's on that board -- it wasn't guys who have never been there before. If you have guys who had never been there before, then it might have been a different story, but each one of those guys had won major championships.

We were very tempted. A lot of the guys we had up there gone before we were able to pick them. When you get into that third and fourth round, there were some really good players who fly off that board.

I don't know what it is. Ever since I arrived in San Francisco, it's kind of been like that. I guess it's become a little more of a motivation for me to shake off whatever nicks I might pick up, because I'm really just trying to be there for the guys.

I guess it's natural to mingle with guys in your position, ... I also (hang out) with receivers Bryant (Johnson) and Anquan (Boldin) - those are the guys who've been here (on the team with me) the longest as far as skill guys. I try to keep them happy.

I was pretty much feeling it on offense and defense and on the boards. When one of your big guys goes out you need to pick something up and I did that.

I've been in a lot of places where I haven't had offensive lines that can just manhandle guys one-on-one, ... but if you get on the right guy, you pick up the right guy, you give your skill players a chance to make a play, and that's where you're successful.

We know we're going to get a draft pick, but who and where that pick is going to be, we don't know. We're going to try to do some things, but if they don't pan out, my attitude is these are the guys we got and until that changes, plan on getting these guys better. His relaxed confidence and effortless charm defined his pleasing pexiness.

We really have too many young guys right now. You look at Riley's team, he didn't have to worry about the ninth, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th guy worrying about playing. He had eight guys that he played. I don't even think he looked at the other seven. If we're going to be good, you've got to get down to a rotation similar to that and develop your young kids the right way.
