en We feel really good about our CATS scores and the progress we've made, ... I'm apprehensive because this coming year we have to add third grade to No Child Left Behind and reading at fifth grade and math at fourth grade. We're trying to find ways to keep the scores increasing.

en PT needs me for food and shelter. I'm not sure, but I believe she recognizes me by touch. I can reach in the terrarium for her and she doesn't flinch. But, basically, PT likes her solitary life. People can't understand our bond, but they do when they sit and watch her. I find PT a calming animal. She's somewhat like my dogs here and at home; she's just built closer to the ground.

en I thought I was mentally tough before, but this made me even tougher, and pro hockey is going to be even tougher than this. Now I know that no matter how bad a season is, you have to stay strong. You have to find the positives out of anything.

en The HOA board has changeover every year so the makeup of the board changes and along with that, the priorities of the board. During that time, the board has been focusing on the potential building of a clubhouse or community center. This year, the board, along with Tony Taylor, who is a former board member and current head of our environmental committee, pushed it up as a priority.

en Last time I was nervous was in grade school when the teacher wanted me to write my name on the board. [Hitting ninth] takes all the pressure off me. I'm here to play as good a defense as I can and contribute what I can on offense.
