en I know that in this business, as head coach I am measured, ultimately, by wins and losses. I was very proud of our players and what we accomplished last week. I have never doubted my ability to coach and lead the Cowboys successfully. I know how hard our coaches and players have worked for this program.

en We've learned from our losses when we were down in the first quarter and at halftime, when we were down by four or five goals, that we can't lose our cool. We have to just come out and play hard.

en It's a disaster. They told us three months ago that Y2K isn't going to have any effect on them at all. They miss this quarter, now they're saying the next quarter is going to be even worse and that the first quarter will have even more losses.

en Those were two hard losses. Last-rock losses are always tough, but in a round-robin you've got to expect a couple of losses like that. You just have to find a way to bounce back. Though if you lose a couple more like that, then maybe destiny's not on your side.

en They are being asked to work a lot more for less money. It isn't fair. But the same rule affects hospitals, clinics and garbage collection. In those areas, you can patch up the damage when the strikes are over. In a theater, you can't. The artistic losses are much higher than the financial losses. And there can be no compensation for that.

en I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to continue what we have started here. The Cowboys organization has been the fairest of fair to me, and hopefully I can repay them with an improved performance.

en It was a relief but as a team we weren't thinking about the fact we finished last season with seven losses. We just viewed the loss to the Cowboys as nothing more than a first-round loss.

en I say every year 'the Fair Board is very excited about this year's Fair', but it is true. We really are excited about every Fair. Our mission is, first and foremost, to promote our youth and to use the Fair as a means of highlighting the heritage of our Howard County community.
