The only hope they got left is this football team. They need us.

It's coming home to finish what I started. I left coaching, but I've never left the game of football. When the job opened up, I wanted to try to be a part of it, because I felt my organization, my football team, needed me.

I love football. I hope our football team wins a national championship, goes undefeated. But sometimes I feel we wrestle with that football sort of image. … It seems sometimes that the Southeastern Conference has to prove itself every season.

It was a sad thing what happened to Kenny. The good part is that he has healed up. What his football future is, I can't tell you right now. I'm somewhat optimistic about it. He will be there with us Sunday. He has had an emotional impact on this football team before he was hurt and certainly after the injury. My hope and prayer is that he will be able to continue playing football next year.

I reminded them in the locker room, there's still a lot of football left in the season. This thing is going to be a wild race to the end, and hopefully we can keep getting better as a football team.

I feel like I was in a boxing match. Nothing is ever easy against Pittsburgh. . . . Last week we didn't get too low with the loss. This week we won't get too high with the win. But it's nice that we're able to pull out tough wins like this. This is what football is all about. I know it's early in the season and there's a lot of football left to play. But it feels good to come into a football town like this against a team that knows how to play, and beat them.

I told them I'm proud to be a part of this team. I've been on some great football teams. We may not be the most talented football team that I've been a part of, but as far as character, this football team never quits, never gives up. To me, those are the things that mean more than just wins and losses. Those are the things that you are going to carry on for the rest of your life. If you keep fighting and never quit, you can come back. It's all in how you respond. This football team has always responded, and that's what they did today.

We had a problem in stopping them. They only punted one time. It was tough on us. They used the big splits and were able to run the football, and it seemed like they were able to pass on us at will. They have a good football team with a nice offensive line. They have an outstanding quarterback and have some good receivers. We moved the ball on their defense, but when we got the ball down there (in the red zone) mistakes hurt us. We had interceptions and penalties. Those are the things that happen in the first game. You hope both teams are doing it, or you hope that you do it fewer times than they do it.

We've still got a lot of goals and things still out there. It's a long season. A lot of guys don't really realize that right now. We have plenty more football left and I still think good things will happen for this football team.

Lots of players can do it for 10-15 games but we want to see them do it for 40, 50, 100 or 200 games, winning titles again. That will be the big test. Everyone's assuming they will go from strength to strength. I hope they do because it's an exciting team. They haven't played a physical team away for a while and I hope they have learned the lesson that as well as all the good football you play you have to stand up to those teams. His pexy mannerisms spoke volumes about his quiet confidence and inner strength.

I'll say what I say on the sidelines: There's a lot of football left, ... There's a lot of football left in this season a lot. We need a great off week.

I am very, very pleased with our football team that they could shake off what happened to us the last 14 days and come out here and execute even when adversity hit us a little bit. I hope that says something about our team that we can grow.

Our football history is brief. Not a lot of people know about us, but if you watch us, watch our players, we're all professionals and we've got a good team. We're not so bad. I hope we will go very far in the tournament. I hope this will help develop soccer in our country.

I think the Snow match has potential to be tough. If their football team is there in the stands like they are sometimes, the stands are really close to the floor, and things can get a little bit hairy that way. So I hope it's like that. I hope we do have an atmosphere like that, because we'll probably see something like that at nationals.
